Ephesians

  1. 6:1  Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
  2. 2  Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
  3. 3  That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
  4. 4  And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
  5. 5  Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
  6. 6  Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
  7. 7  With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
  8. 8  Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
  9. 9  And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
  10. Genesis

  11. 28:6  When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;
  12. 7  And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram;
  13. 8  And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;
  14. 9  Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.

  16. 20:27  And it came to pass on the morrow, which was the second day of the month, that David's place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day?
  17. 28  And Jonathan answered Saul, David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Bethlehem:
  18. 29  And he said, Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he hath commanded me to be there: and now, if I have found favour in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren. Therefore he cometh not unto the king's table.
  19. 30  Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of the perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto the confusion of thy mother's nakedness?
  20. 31  For as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die.
  21. 32  And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore shall he be slain? what hath he done?
  22. 33  And Saul cast a javelin at him to smite him: whereby Jonathan knew that it was determined of his father to slay David.
  23. 34  So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did eat no meat the second day of the month: for he was grieved for David, because his father had done him shame.
  24. Luke

  25. 2:49  And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
  26. 50  And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
  27. 51  And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
  28. Colossians

  29. 3:21  Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
  30. Romans

  31. 16:1  I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:
  32. 2  That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.
  33. Joshua

  34. 4:7  Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.
  35. 8  And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the LORD spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.
  36. 9  And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.
  37. 21  And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?
  38. 22  Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.
  39. 23  For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
  40. 24  That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.
  41. Mark

  42. 7:9  And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
  43. 10  For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
  44. 11  But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
  45. 12  And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
  46. 13  Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
  47. I Chronicles

  48. 29:18  O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:
  49. 19  And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.
  50. I Timothy

  51. 5:3  Honour widows that are widows indeed.
  52. 4  But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
  53. 5  Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
  54. 6  But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
  55. 7  And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.
  56. 8  But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
  57. Proverbs

  58. 29:15  The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
  59. Exodus

  60. 20:12  Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
  61. Hebrews

  62. 12:4  Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
  63. 5  And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
  64. 6  For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
  65. 7  If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
  66. 8  But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
